Audacia Ray’s new short film, “Dacia’s Love Machine” has been released! The 25-minute director’s cut is available online in .mp4 and .flv and is only $2.99 to download. Pathetic, but true fact, downloading this film costs less than the gas it would take to drive to my nearest Starbucks to hang out with a friend over coffee.

I have seen it and it is hilarious. Obviously it’s a movie about a fucking machine, but ultimately it’s a comedy and the fucking machine is really the star.

You see, Dacia originally received the Love Machine to review. As I recall, it was something along the lines of her orgasm being in spite of, not the result of the Love Machine and so she was less than thrilled to have it laying around her house, so she put an ad on Craigslist:

Sex machine for sale (not a person, an actual machine) - w4mw - 27
Date: 2007-12-03, 9:37PM EST

So I’m a sex toy reviewer, and a little over a year ago I acquired a fucking machine to review (Topco brand, it retails at $395). It’s kinda big, and I really want it out of my apartment. It has all but one attachment (the one I used, which I will throw away), and technically it is lightly used.

Yes, it’s true, I’m trying to sell my lightly used sex machine on CL. I’m asking $100 for it, you come pick it and get it out of my life. It’s manageable to get it on the subway (probably easier with two people), but I recommend wrapping the box in brown paper or something, since it has pictures and words that will make your package very obvious.

CL doesn’t allow me to post the link to the review, but go to fleshbot[dot]com and search “Marital Aid Test Kitchen: The Fucking Love Machine,” and scroll down to the bottom of the page - the review was posted on October 20, 2006.

She filters through the responses, some of which are so outlandish that I had to ask her, “Did people really respond that way?” To which she replied, “Yes, all of those responses are genuine!” WOW! A study in strange humanology, but I love to peek through the door of the crazy world in which we live. Human nature only gets more and more curious as people stop by to look at the machine in person.

Click the picture to go to www.daciaslovemachine.com and download the movie. The first twenty five people who buy the download get a free sex toy courtesy of EdenFantasys - you have your choice between a pocket rocket and a masturbation sleeve.

Seriously, I personally guarantee you that this will be the best $3.00 you spent today ($2.99, actually). Marky and I got to preview the film and we both thought it was clever, funny, curious, voyeuristic, entertaining, and did I mention funny? Now go! Enjoy 25 minutes of unique entertainment.

I have undertaken a new networking project. No, not a social networking project (Join Fetlife!), just peer-to-peer networking.  A common problem within the world in which we exist in cybercyberland is the lack of networking infrastructure.  Over the course of the past couple of years I have more and more become the spoke in a wheel, a hub in a star topology network. My friends joke that I’m the new Kevin Bacon and I should start a list called 6 Degrees of Catalina.  I have decided to do something with this!

Essentially I am putting together a mailing list that would not be sold to or used by anybody else of hundreds of industry professionals.  In this mailing list are affiliate managers, bloggers, sex writers, editors, publishers, columnists, graphic designers, photographers, guest speakers, web hosting companies, models, event coordinators, educators, podcasters, and other relevant industry professionals.  Basically everybody related to the (sex) Blogosphere.

I’m modeling this specifically after HARO.  If you haven’t heard of Help A Reporter Out, then you should look into it.  Peter Shankman is a skydiving genius! As of now, I am going to commit to doing it weekly.  If it takes off the way that HARO has, it will end up being daily.

Essentially, you’ll submit your request in to me.  I will compose an email to my list of contacts (community@quidproquopr.com) with all the requests.   If it applies to you, you contact that person directly.  If it doesn’t apply to you, don’t read it.  :)  It comes in a digest form, so there is a Table of Contents at the top so that you can go directly to the portion that interests you.

For example, if you’re composing an anthology, you would have a great place to post a request for submissions and if you’re an aspiring writer, you could respond.  It would also give you a place to say, “Hey, I need a new header!” and who knows, maybe you can work out a cross-promotion with a graphic designer?!  I’m thinking even down to requests like, “I’m going to be in San Francisco for the Folsom Street Fair and I need a couch to sleep on.”

It is not intended to be a place to sell your products or advertise your services.  The idea is to build CommUNITY and network.

Everybody I talk to about public relations and promotions is frustrated that there isn’t a network in place.  I want to put that network in place!  I am already doing this on a microcosmic level.  I want to make it cosmic!

If you would like to be a part of this blogging/sex writers/erotica network, please send me an email.

Yay, its the third episode! Unfortunately, Live Girl Review had a bit of a set back last week - the show has been deleted from iTunes. I think it’s probably because of “strong prevalence of sexual content,” which is listed in their terms of service as a reason shows may not be included. I haven’t gotten a response back from iTunes Abuse - if anyone has suggestions for me, please let me know. It would be a real bummer if the show wasn’t on iTunes.

In less crappy news: the winner of the goodies from the last episode is Baby Sinead, who is a photographer, model, and hell raiser in NYC. Check out her site - her blog is excellent, as are her boobs.

Here what’s in the show this week!
Reviews
Books: Opening Up: A Guide to Creating and Sustaining Open Relationships by Tristan Taormino (the book has its own community site: Opening Up) vs Open: Love, Sex, and Life in an Open Marriage by Jenny Block (whose website URL I just have to point out because its hilarious: jennyonthepage.com. Ha!)

Sex Toy
: Fun Factory’s Delight - buy through this link and type in the code “livegirl” at checkout and you get a 10% discount

Smut Review
: Hospital! directed by Benny Profane and featuring Mandy Morbid, Zak Sabbath, and Caroline Pierce

One Hot Minute
Because I reviewed two books about open relationships, Jamye Waxman decided to share a few tips about how to have a happy threesome.

Bad Press
Here’s why you should think twice about a vaginoplasty - put those muscles to work instead!

Fan Girl Moment
I get fan girly on Marisa DiMattia of tattoo couture blog Needled. She talks all about sex and tattoos and the study she’s been doing on the subject - you can read more about the study in her column Erotic Ink over on Suicide Girls.

Goodies!
This episode’s give aways will go to one lucky commenter who must come on over to the post on Live Girl Review to drop their words of wisdom - not top five or top ten, but anyone who comments before the next episode goes up. The winner will get: a copy of Hospital plus Ellen Forney’s Lust (comics inspired by personal ads).

The next episode goes up on September 24!

Thanks for your support!

Fetlife.com

[Thank You, The-F-Mag.com, for the awesome review of Fetlife.com! Obviously, as part of the FetLife team, I am thrilled to repost this here! This is cross-posted from Are You On Fetlife]

How often do you ask someone if they are on Facebook or MySpace? For many of us, it has become almost a reflex. The social networking websites are great for keeping up with friends, family, co-workers… But not so great for privacy, especially for those of us with deviant sexual appetites. Unless comfortable with telling everyone about our particular kinks, we must be very careful with what we put on our online profiles. After all, who wants to tell their work colleagues about their foot fetish, their love of spanking or their belief in female domination?

So what do you do when you want to connect with others of similar interests? You go on Fetlife.com! The Montreal-based site is like a Facebook for kinksters. Given how the BDSM/leather/fetish community has taken advantage of the Internet over the years to connect, it was almost inevitable that something like this would surface.

FetLife is a social utility, like Facebook and mySpace, designed specifically for the BDSM & fetish community and run by sexual deviants. We think it is more fun that way. Don’t you?

The site was launched in January this year, and is growing exponentially. It now boasts over 32 000 members, all kinksters. Its creator, John Baku, a kinkster himself, makes privacy a priority on Fetlife.com. The sign-up, login and home page can all be found though search engines, but nothing else is accessible unless you sign in.

Fetlife.com was definitely made by kinksters, for kinksters: when you create your account, you can choose one of 5 different genders, one of 7 sexual orientations and you can specify your preferred role, whether dominant, top, bottom, switch, etc. Once your account is created, you can discuss what fetishes you are into, join social groups or forums, post writing, see what your friends are doing, and more.

Jane’s Guide has given Fetlife a good review, saying “I feel like I’m giving you guys an early Christmas gift. Go check it out! This is the next big kinky community site! They are going to be huge, and they will stay huge as long as they keep the spirit that they have now.”

The Montreal Mirror, a free weekly newspaper, has also published an interesting article about it. Favorite sex bloggers Catalina and Marky D. Sade have recently become the marketing team behind Fetlife.com. Like they said, by kinksters, for kinksters.

Convinced, yet? Go give Fetlife.com a shot!

Dacia beat me to announcing it!

Yes, it’s official. I’m proudly a part of Team Waking Vixen - officially Audacia and me. Here’s the thing, you would never know it based on her body of work, but Dacia is a one-woman media machine! Did you know that she:

*Wrote a book titled Naked on the Internet: Hookups, Downloads, and Cashing In Internet Sexploration? It’s really interesting. I recently read it and I’ll review it on my blog soon, but even the title is compelling, is it not?

*Writes, produces, and edits Live Girl Review - “video reviews of sexual culture and media: books, film, art, and yes - porno and sex toys. Not always well-behaved and tasteful, but always smart and critical, while never losing sight of that whole fun thing.”

*Was an executive editor of $pread Magazine from January, 2005 - January, 2008

*She directed a film, The Bi-Apple, whichfeatures straight, strap-on, boy-boy, girl-girl, and boy-boy-girl sex scenes, and an all-natural bodied, racially diverse cast.” It’s especially worth noting that her debut film crossed the line from kink to mainstream when her film was mentioned in Oprah Magazine (July, 2007)

*She even talked sex on CNN!

So although it looks like she has an entire staff working for her, the fact is, she’s just incredibly bright, ambitious, motivated, and most importantly, creative! So while she may not have an entire staff, she does officially have staff, as I am officially catalina[at]wakingvixen.com.

It’s always an honor to work with someone you admire. In this case, it’s especially an honor, as I become the first person that Dacia has chosen to bring on her team as she expands her empire. Just you wait to see what we have planned!

It’s official. Marky D. Sade and I have accepted a proposal to work with Fetlife.com as their marketing department. We are actively seeking new relationships with companies, large and small, who are interested in advertising their products or events on the best fetish social networking site. What makes Fetlife.com the best adult, fetish, kinky, social networking site on the internet? Well, take a minute to read what Jane’s Guide had to say about it:

Take a moment and imagine a leather Facebook or Myspace, and then imagine it being run by and for kinky folks. That is exactly what Fetlife is! It is the coolest new community site out there for pervs, and it is absolutely 100% free. I had been hearing the buzz about this new spot on the web from a few of my lifestyle friends, and I finally decided to go set up an account and take a look myself. Many years ago I had been on other sites that promised community and allowed free communication, but since those sites have sold to other companies their soul has left the building and communication costs money. It is also communication that is no longer under the nurturing ownership of perverts with a personal interest in our tribe. I’d lost interest, and so had most of my friends. I was hoping that this site could be some of what I was missing on the old ones. Wow, I wasn’t disappointed! I immediately ran into some of my old friends, and then ran off to recruit new ones. It is easy to sign up. Once you have, then you set up a profile. You can add pics to it, and you’ll never run into that “you have to have such and such membership” to view pics or show them to others. There are social groups here with ongoing forum conversations, so you can sign up for topics that interest you (or create your own groups). There is a mail system that acts like a personal bulletin board for private conversations, so you don’t lose track of what has been said to anyone. You can post writing, see what your friends are doing, and a lot more. A lot of talented pervs are posting writing and engaging in conversation here. I’ve met a lot of new friends. There is a small amount of advertising, but it is done really tastefully and never gets in the way. You can write to the folks that run the site, and they will actually write you back. I’ve been in love with this place and raving about it for the last several weeks. This is one of the few sites that didn’t ask for review. I sought out the owner and asked him if I could post one. It is that good. I feel like I’m giving you guys an early Christmas gift. Go check it out! This is the next big kinky community site! They are going to be huge, and they will stay huge as long as they keep the spirit that they have now. - Vamp

To highlight: “There is a small amount of advertising, but it is done really tastefully and never gets in the way.” and “This is the next big kinky community site! They are going to be huge, and they will continue to stay huge…”

We couldn’t be more proud! It’s all true, too. One thing we love about being a part of the Fetlife team is that we are able to work with you, one-on-one, through each step of the way to get your ad placed in just the right spot. You can advertise broadly across the entire network, or we can target by location (country or state) and by gender (M,F,MtF,FtM and or GQ), thereby optimizing your advertising money by targeting your market, the kinksters who are looking for your company or product!

We only display three ads per page, all static and nicely placed in the F-zone. You’re not competing for attention. People will and do see them, but as Vamp pointed out in her review, they aren’t obnoxious and annoying. We’ll keep it that way! We want to continue to build Fetlife the way it was intended - by (real) Kinksters for (real) Kinksters!

For more information on advertising on Fetlife.com, please contact us at mark@fetlife.com or catalina@fetlife.com. And feel free to grab that banner up above and link it from your site to Fetlife.com. :)

Lochai "working" at Hogtied.com

SAN FRANCISCO (August 22, 2008) – Award-winning fine art bondage photographer Lochai will take over from Matt Williams as director of Kink.com’s Hogtied.com, the company announced today.

“Hogtied was our first site and we still consider it our flagship,” said Kink.com founder and CEO Peter Acworth. “We’re very pleased to bring Lochai on to continue the Hogtied tradition. He’s one of the best-known bondage riggers around and for years he’s been out there in the community, both as a photographer and as an educator. Most importantly, he really gets what’s fun and beautiful and hot about women in bondage – he understands the Kink.com esthetic. I’m very much looking forward to working with him.”

Lochai’s inaugural update on Hogtied.com is a sizzling 56-minute scene with 22-year-old Virginian beauty Isobel Wren. Shot when Lochai was auditioning for his new role, the scene currently headlines the site, In it, Wren is placed in Lochai’s trademark Japanese-influenced rope bondage and subjected to a stunning number of screaming orgasms, including a copious squirt. Throughout, Lochai’s sardonic humor tempers the intense bondage and stimulation.

Said Lochai:

“Everything that’s done in any of the Kink.com sites is real, so it’s not like I’m acting a part. I’m actually being myself. I’m sarcastic, I’m a smart ass, I laugh during scenes and I also console when someone’s upset. I’m going to be doing my real play, my real life, within the walls of the Armory, because that’s what’s expected by the customers — and that’s what’s expected by Kink.com. I’m going to be super comfortable there, because I feel like I’m home.”

An award winning photographer whose work appears in galleries as well as in publications like The British Journal of Photography, Secret, Skin Two, Bizarre, and in his own fine art books, Lochai is equally well known as a bondage educator, teaching classes at conferences around the United States and doing public scenes in nightclubs and at fetish events. A founding director of the Photo Artisans Guild (PAG), in West Palm Beach Florida, he was also the co-founder and co-curator of the Traveling Erotic Art Show, which spent two years touring the United States. He also moderates a group on BDSM social networking site FetLife, CommUNITY Building, that seeks to build BDSM and alternative sexuality leadership skills.

Lochai takes over from longtime Hogtied.com director Matt Williams, who began directing the site in 2003. Williams was recently promoted to Kink.com’s Creative Director, and will be guiding creative development on new sites as well as Kink.com’s existing sites. “I’m looking forward to helping with the overall creative level,” said Williams. “I’m going to work with existing sites and new sites both, developing the look and feel, and sharing fantasies that I have in my head — I have great ideas for each one of our sites.”

Williams will continue to direct unscripted girl-girl erotic wrestling site UltimateSurrender.com, which he calls “my little baby.” “I’m going to hang on to that – I have some great ideas for the future.”

Lochai expressed his excitement about his new role.

“Every person who’s ever sat down in front of me in a classroom, or who has surrounded me out in a club to watch what I’m doing, has wanted this job. They want to get paid to tie up beautiful women and get them off – and that’s my job. It’s a wonderful feeling, and an affirmation that my kink pays off.”

A longtime Florida resident, Lochai will be relocating in September to the San Francisco area. He says he’ll continue his work teaching bondage and SM lifestyle classes, both at the half-dozen conferences he traditionally attends annually, and in the San Francisco area.

For more information about Lochai, visit his site Kirinawa.com or email the Kink.com Public Relations Manager at thomas@kink.com. Webmasters interested in promoting Kink.com content, including Hogtied.com, please visit www.KinkyDollars.com or email the Kink.com affiliate manager at terry@kink.com.

Quid Pro Quo Public Relations and Marketing works with up and coming models, content producers, photographers, webmasters, educators, writers, filmmakers, and bloggers.  We work with mainstream companies as well as those with a niche in the fetish market.

Our work is primarily web-based marketing and networking. We design, monetize, and administer blogs, social networking profiles, and websites.  We register our clients for affiliate programs, list them in the proper directories and search engines, and use search engine optimization (SEO) to increase their online presence.  We also promote our clients through our network.

Site design and re-design of sites that already are established are done by our own team of professional programmers and graphic designers.

In addition to our web-based marketing and networking program, we use traditional advertising campaign tools to reach a broader audience and also enjoy short-term promotional campaigns as well.

Our clients, as a result, not only increase their online presence and fan base, but they also see additional income as a result of affiliate revenue. Many of our clients offset our minimal fee with this revenue, often resulting in a net profit.  A sampling of our clients is found here and references are never a problem.
